Remove a background
Removes the background entirely, producing a transparent cutout of your subject.
Upload your image
Open Background Remover and upload the photo you want to edit.
Select Remove
Choose the Remove mode.
Enable Preserve Details if needed
Turn this on for subjects with hair, fur, lace, or glass.
Click Generate
The AI removes the background and produces a transparent image.
Download as PNG
Export as PNG to keep the transparent background (alpha channel).
Replace a background
Replaces the background with an AI-generated scene based on your description or a reference image.
Upload your image
Open Background Remover and upload your photo.
Select Replace
Choose the Replace mode.
Describe the new background
Choose between Prompt (describe the background you want, for example: modern office with large windows) or Image (upload a reference image for the AI to match).
Set the number of alternatives
Generate between 1 and 4 options in a single run so you can compare before committing.
Enable Preserve Details if needed
Turn this on for subjects with complex edges.
Click Generate
The AI replaces the background with the scene you described.
Change to a solid color
Replaces the background with a solid color of your choice. The fastest option when you need a clean, uniform backdrop.
Upload your image
Open Background Remover and upload your photo.
Select Color
Choose the Color mode.
Pick a color
Use the color picker to choose the background color.
Click Generate
The AI removes the original background and applies the solid color.
Blur a background
Blurs the existing background while keeping the subject sharp. Creates a natural depth-of-field effect without changing the scene.
Upload your image
Open Background Remover and upload your photo.
Select Blur
Choose the Blur option.
Adjust the blur intensity
Use the slider to control how strong the blur effect is.
Click Apply
The background blurs while your subject stays sharp.
Preserve Details
Preserve Details is a toggle available in Remove and Replace modes. When enabled, the AI pays extra attention to fine edges like hair, fur, lace, translucent materials, and glass. This makes a noticeable difference on subjects with complex outlines that would otherwise lose detail during background removal.
Enable it when your subject has tricky edges. Leave it off for subjects with clean, simple outlines (solid objects, geometric shapes) where it is not needed.
Tips and best practices
Always enable Preserve Details for hair and fur. The difference is significant. Without it, fine strands get cut off or look unnatural.
Generate 3-4 alternatives in Replace mode. Each run produces a slightly different interpretation of your prompt. Comparing options helps you find the best composition.
Export as PNG for transparent backgrounds. JPG does not support transparency. If you use Remove mode and export as JPG, you will get a white background instead of transparent.
Use Color mode for brand consistency. When you need the same background color across a batch of product images, Color mode is faster and more consistent than Replace.
Be specific in Replace prompts. "Modern office with large windows and natural light" works better than just "office". Include lighting, mood, and details for more accurate results.
Blur is the lightest option. If you just want to separate the subject from the background without changing the scene, Blur is faster than Remove or Replace and keeps the original context.
