Projects
Projects help you keep your creative work organized across all Freepik tools. Every time you create something — whether generating an image, editing a design, or creating a video — your work is automatically saved inside a Project. By default, all creations go to your Personal project.
Each project keeps all your related creations, uploads, and downloads together, so you can easily find, edit, and manage them over time.
If you have a Business or Enterprise plan, you can also share Projects with teammates, see everyone’s creations, and collaborate efficiently in one shared place.

Projects are available for all paid subscribers.
- Individual Plans:
You can create unlimited Projects, organize them with folders and subfolders, and manage all your creations from one place. - Business and Enterprise Plans:
Members can share Projects with others in the same plan, collaborate inside shared Projects, and access all creations made by their teammates.
Free users can view Projects and folders created while they were subscribed but can’t create new ones.
Where to find your Projects
You can access your Projects from:
- The left sidebar in Freepik, right below the Freepik logo.
- Or from All Projects section
When you open the dropdown at the top-left corner, you’ll see all your Projects listed.
You can search, pin your favorites for quick access, or create a new Project directly from there.
Creating a Project
Click + New project from the Projects dropdown or the 'All projects' page
A modal will appear asking you to name your Project
Enter a name and click Create
Your new Project is ready to use and automatically includes a set of default folders.
Default folders
Projects make it simple to keep everything tidy:
- History — All your AI creations are saved here by default. Every image, video, or audio you generate across any tool lands in History automatically.
- Uploads — Files you upload manually (reference images, brand assets, etc.).
- Downloads — Stock content you download from Freepik's library.
- Trash — Deleted files stay here for 30 days before being permanently removed.
Organizing your files
Inside any Project, you can:
- Create folders and subfolders to group related work.
- Drag and drop assets directly from the "My creations" area into folders.
- Rename or delete folders as your structure evolves.
- Use bulk actions to move, delete, or download multiple files at once.
- You can also create new folders while moving files — just type a name and click Add folder.
Saving directly from tools
When you open a Freepik tool (like the Image Generator or Video Generator), you can select a specific folder from the Project dropdown within the tool's feed. Anything you create there is automatically saved in that folder.
This means you don't need to generate first and organize later — you can keep your workflow clean from the start.
Switching between Projects
Use the dropdown at the top of the sidebar to quickly switch between Projects. Pin your most-used Projects so they always appear first for easy access.
Working with individual files
For each file inside your Project, you can:
- Open and edit it using any Freepik tool.
- Download it in your preferred format.
- Move it to another folder or Project.
- Delete or restore it from Trash.
- If it was created with an AI tool, save it as a style to reuse later.
Moving assets between Projects
You can move or copy any asset (image, video, or folder) to another Project.
Select the asset(s) you want to move.
Open the Move to folder dialog
Choose a different Project or folder from the dropdown
Confirm
Sharing a Project
To share a Project with teammates:
Open your Projects view
Click the three dots (⋮) on a Project card
Select Share
Add teammates by email
When you share a Project, you assign a role:
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Editor | Add, move, or delete assets. Create new folders inside the shared Project. Cannot delete the Project itself or change ownership. |
| Viewer | View-only access. (Coming soon → not yet available) |
Only full Projects can be shared — individual folders or files can't be shared separately in this version. Shared Projects appear under the Shared with me tab.
Collaboration features in shared Projects
Shared Projects give your team a central place to work together. Several collaboration features are available inside shared Projects:
Comments
Leave contextual feedback directly on images, video, or audio assets. Pin comments to a specific area on an image or a specific moment in a video or audio timeline. Comments support threaded replies, emoji reactions, and notifications.
Comments are available to all users. @Mentions are available for Business and Enterprise users in shared Projects only.
Naming Convention (coming soon)
Define how downloaded files are named so exports stay organized and consistent across your team. Create naming templates using dynamic values like project name, prompt, date, tool, and format. Set organization-level defaults or project-specific overrides.
Available on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans.
Trash and recovery
Deleted items are sent to the Trash section inside each Project. They remain there for 30 days before being permanently deleted. You can restore or permanently remove them at any time.
In shared Projects, the Trash includes deleted items from all users with access.
Publishing (coming soon)
In upcoming updates, you'll be able to publish Projects, folders, or individual files with view-only public URLs. Anyone with the link will be able to see or download your work, but not edit it.
This feature is not yet available.
Tips and best practices
- Create one Project per client or campaign to keep work separated and easy to find.
- Pin your most-used Projects so they're always one click away in the sidebar.
- Use the folder dropdown inside tools (Image Generator, Video Generator) to save directly to the right place — skip the "organize later" step.
- Set up Naming Convention early if you're on a team, so all downloads follow the same structure from day one.
- Use Comments instead of external review tools — pin feedback directly on the asset to keep context attached to the work.
In summary
Projects help you:
- Keep all your creations from different Freepik tools organized.
- Manage files easily through folders, subfolders, and drag-and-drop.
- Move and share assets effortlessly.
- Collaborate with your team in a single, organized place.
This feature gives you complete control over your creative work — keeping everything structured, accessible, and ready to grow.
