    How to download a resource

    1

    Find a resource

Use the search bar or browse categories on Freepik to find the image, vector, PSD, video, or template you need.

    2

    Open the resource page

Click on any resource to see its details, preview, and available formats.

    3

    Click Download

Hit the Download button on the right side of the resource page. If multiple formats are available, choose the one you need before downloading.

Free vs. Premium resourcesIf you are a free user and try to download a Premium resource, the site will prompt you to upgrade to a Premium, Premium+, or Pro plan. Free users can only download resources marked as free.

What you get when you download

Most downloads come as a ZIP file that you need to unzip on your computer. Make sure you have a file extraction tool installed — most operating systems include one by default.

Inside the ZIP folder you will typically find:

    • The editable source file (EPS, AI, PSD, SVG, or other format depending on the resource type)
    • A JPG preview image
    • Instructions on how to download the license for the resource

Not sure what each file format is or when to use it? See File formats for a complete overview.

AI-generated contentDownloads from AI tools (Image Generator, Video Generator, etc.) work differently — they save directly to your device without a ZIP file, and they do not count toward your daily stock download limit. See each tool's guide for details.

    Daily download limits

Freepik applies daily download limits to stock content on Freepik.com. The limit resets every day at 00:00 UTC (GMT+0).

    User typeDaily limit
    Not registered3 downloads per day
Registered free / Essential10 downloads per day
    Premium / Premium+ / Pro100 downloads per day

If you reach your daily limit, you will need to wait until it resets the following day at 00:00 UTC. Upgrading your plan increases your available downloads.

Re-downloading the same resource within the same 24-hour period does not count as an additional download.

    Flaticon download limits

If you also use Flaticon, download limits are tracked separately from Freepik.com.

    User typeDaily icon limitCollectionsPacks
    Not registered10 icons1 collectionNo
    Registered free100 icons (PNG only)3 collections (50 icons each)No
    Premium2,000 iconsUnlimited (256 icons each)Yes

Flaticon limits also reset every 24 hours. Re-downloading the same icon or pack within the same period counts only once.

You can check your remaining Flaticon downloads by clicking your profile icon in the top-right corner of the Flaticon screen.

    Download history

You can review everything you have downloaded from Freepik at any time.

    1

    Log into your account

Make sure you are signed in to Freepik.com.

    2

    Open the sidebar

Click the main sidebar on the left side of the screen.

    3

    Go to Stock, then Downloads

Hover over Stock in the sidebar and select Downloads from the submenu.

    4

    Browse your history

You will see a list of every resource you have downloaded, organized by date. Each entry shows the resource name, format, and download date.

Your download history is permanent — it does not reset when your daily limit resets.

    Re-downloading files

You can re-download any resource you have previously downloaded:

    • Within 24 hours: re-downloading does not count toward your daily limit.
    • After 24 hours: re-downloading counts as a new download against your daily limit.
    • After your license expires: you can still re-download the file, but you will need an active license (plan) to use it in new projects. Resources used in projects while your license was active remain covered.
If a resource has been removed from Freepik by the contributor, you will no longer be able to re-download it — but your existing downloaded copy remains licensed under the terms that applied when you downloaded it.

    Downloading licenses

Every download from Freepik comes with a license that defines how you can use the resource. You can download a copy of the license for your records:

    1

    Go to your download history

Navigate to Stock → Downloads in the sidebar.

    2

    Find the resource

Locate the resource you need the license for.

    3

    Click the license icon

Click the license download button next to the resource entry. The license file will download as a PDF or text file.

For details on what each license type allows, see Licenses & attribution.

    Troubleshooting

I've reached my daily download limit

Wait for the reset at 00:00 UTC, or consider upgrading your plan for a higher limit. Non-registered users get 3 downloads, free/Essential users get 10, and Premium/Premium+/Pro users get 100 per day.

The downloaded file will not open

Most Freepik resources download as a ZIP file. Make sure you unzip the file first. If the file inside the ZIP will not open, check that you have the right software for the format — for example, Adobe Illustrator for AI/EPS files, Adobe Photoshop for PSD files, or a vector editor like Inkscape for SVG. See File formats for details on what software works with each type.

My download is stuck or fails

Try refreshing the page and clicking Download again. If the issue persists, clear your browser cache, try a different browser, or check your internet connection. If the problem continues, contact support.

    I downloaded the wrong format

Go back to the resource page and check whether other formats are available. Some resources offer multiple download options (JPG, EPS, SVG, PSD). Re-downloading within the same 24-hour window does not count as an additional download.
